Woman falls in Orland Square Mall parking lot, sues

Scales1

A woman is suing, claiming a construction area in a parking lot caused her to trip and fall.

Marian Halsey filed a lawsuit Oct. 31 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against J&T Management Inc., doing business as The J&T Group, Vratsinas Construction Co. LLC and Simon Property Management Group, citing negligence.

The plaintiff alleges she sustained serious injuries on Oct 25, 2012 when she tripped and fell in the parking lot at Orland Square Mall.

According to the complaint, construction work was being performed in the parking lot and the defendants failed to barricade the holes and unsafe areas, failed to warn pedestrians, failed to fix the repairs and failed to properly make the repairs.

Halsey is seeking damages in excess of $30,000. She is being represented by Chicago attorney Charles A. Spinuzza.
