Woman sues Food 4 Less after she slips and falls

Scales2

A woman is suing over allegations she fell while at a grocery store.

Joanne Coburn filed a lawsuit Dec. 2 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Ralph's Grocery Co. and The Kroger Co., individually and doing business as Food 4 Less, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Coburn sustained serious injuries on Dec. 1, 2011, when she slipped and fell in the bathroom at the defendant's store at 1000 E.Sibley Blvd. in Dolton.

The plaintiff claims she slipped and fell because the floor was wet. She claims the defendants failed to exercise reasonable care, failed to correct the condition, failed to warn and failed to keep the floor dry.

Coburn is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum. She is being represented in the case by Pope & Jaburek PC.
