Menards sued over slip and fall

A woman is suing over allegations and she slipped and fell while at a local Menards.

Maria Soto filed a lawsuit Nov. 21 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Menard Inc., also known as Menards Inc., citing negligence.

According to the complaint, on June 7, 2012, Soto sustained serious injury when she slipped and fell at the Menards store at 2333 S. Cicero Ave. in Cicero.

The plaintiff states there was a liquid substance on the floor, which caused her to fall. She claims the defendants failed to inspect for dangerous conditions, failed to maintain the store, failed to remove the spilled product and failed to warn the plaintiff.

Soto is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. She is being represented in the case by Dennis J. Kellogg of the Law Offices of Dennis J. Kellogg.
