JC's Pub & Ristorante sued after customer falls

A man is suing after he tripped and fell while at a local restaurant.

James Walsh filed a lawsuit Nov. 25 in the Cook County Circuit Court against J.C.'s of McCook Inc., doing business as JC's Pub & Ristorante, JC's Pub of McCook Inc., doing business as JC's Pub & Ristorante, Andy Lorek and Joseph Theodore Cistaro, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 25, 2012, Walsh sustained serious injury when he tripped and fell at the defendants' restaurant at 8650 Joliet Road in McCook. The plaintiff states he tripped and fell on a wheel extension protruding from the base of a divider wall.

The plaintiff claims the defendants improperly operated the restaurant, failed to inspect for dangerous conditions, failed to warn the plaintiff, allowed a tripping hazard, failed to provide proper lighting and failed to provide proper flooring.

Walsh is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. He is being represented in the case by Brian M. Begley of Jendryk, Farmans, Hamer & Begley LLC.
