United Airlines, the city of Chicago named in negligence lawsuit after a woman slips

Shallcross

A woman is suing United Airlines and others over a slip and fall incident in the airport concourse.

Jeanne C. Pavlica filed a lawsuit Dec. 4 in the Cook County Circuit Court against United Air Lines Inc., Scrub Inc. and the City of Chicago, citing negligence and willful and wanton conduct.

Pavlica says that on Jan. 29, she was walking in the pedestrian tunnel leading to the C-Concourse at O'Hare International Airport when she slipped and fell on water that created a puddle from a leak in the ceiling.

The complaint alleges the defendants were negligent in failing to maintain the property in a reasonably safe condition and by permitting the walkway to remain wet and unreasonably dangerous, among other claims.

Pavlica is seeking damages in excess of 50,000. She is being represented in the case by attorney Brian S. Shallcross of the Clifford Law Offices P.C.
