Horeb Auto Sales is facing suit after allegedly committing fraud.
Juana L. Navarrete filed a lawsuit Dec. 6 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Juan Alvarez, doing business as Horeb Auto Sales, and Horeb Auto Corp., doing business as Horeb Auto Sales, citing conversion, wrongful repossession and violations of the Odometer Disclosure Law Consumer Fraud Act.
The complaint states that on June 26, 2012, Navarrete purchased and financed a used vehicle from the defendants. According to the suit, an agreement between the parties required Navarrete to pay off the balance of the vehicle within one year, but did not include payment due dates.
Navarrete contends the defendants never informed him the title was salvaged and did not provide an odometer reading. The suit states that on May 17, 2013, the defendants wrongfully repossessed the vehicle and failed to give Navarrete the contract and title.
The plaintiff is seeking compensatory, statutory and punitive damages. She is being represented in the case by attorney Salvador J. Lopez of Robson & Lopez LLC.
