Homeowner sues airplane company after crash leaves debris in her yard

Plane

Wendy Meister, individually and as assignee of John McGuire, filed suit in the Cook County Circuit Court on Nov. 27 against Trans North Aviation LTD. and Robert W. Hendrickson Co. over alleged property damage and negligence.

Meister claims that on Nov. 28, 2011, an airplane crashed on her property in Riverwoods.

According to her complaint, the airplane, belonging to Trans North, ran out of fuel en route to Chicago and Hendrickson was hired by Trans North to remove debris following the crash.

Meister says Hendrickson caused further damage to her property by failing to disburse the weight of the trucks. He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented by attorney Ed Mullen.
