Shante Triplet filed suit Nov. 7 in the Cook County Circuit Court on Nov. 7 against Dr. Bernadette Mayer, doing business as MedSpa and Wellness Center, Lillian Dominguez and Beautiful Skin Chicago.
According to the complaint, Triplet visited Mayer at MedSpa and Wellness Center in Chicago in November 2011 to have a laser hair removal procedure done around her neck. She claims that Dominguez was the one conducting the procedure with Mayer supervising her work.
Triplet accuses the defendants of burning her over the course of the procedure. She claims Dominguez was not properly qualified or trained in using the laser hair removal tool, which lead to her burns.
She is suing for negligence, seeking more than $100,000 in damages and represented by Chicago attorney Debra A. Armstrong.
