Devera J. Hollander and George Hollander filed a lawsuit Dec. 9 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Regal Cinemas Inc., citing negligence and loss of consortium.

According to the complaint, Devera Hollander was at Regal Cinemas, 300 Parkway Drive in Lincolnshire on Oct. 25, when she tripped and fell while attempting to find a seat in a dark theater, causing an injury.

She alleges the defendant was negligent in failing to provide sufficient lighting in the theater and aisles and for designing a theater with a series of turning walls without sufficient signage and illumination, among other claims.

The Hollanders are seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional limit. They are being represented in the case by attorney Richard J. Grossman of Steinberg, Burtker & Grossman Ltd.
