Woman falls at Midway and sues

Ecryan

A woman is suing, claiming she fell on the sidewalk near a bus terminal at Midway Airport.

Roseann Eldred filed a lawsuit Dec. 12 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the City of Chicago, Midway Airport, Chicago Transit Authority and Chicago Department of Transportation, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Eldred sustained injuries on Jan. 19, when she tripped and fell on bolts and/or screws that were protruding out of the sidewalk near a bus terminal at Midway Airport.

She claims the defendants were negligent for failing to warn of the sidewalk condition, failing to maintain the sidewalk, failing to inspect the sidewalk, permitting the protruding screws and/or bolts and failing to remove the protruding screws and/or bolts.

Eldred is seeking damages above $50,000, plus costs. She is being represented in the case by Elizabeth C. Ryan of The Law Office of Elizabeth C. Ryan.
