A woman who claims she received anonymous text messages on her work phone is suing an unidentified defendant for intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Wei Qi filed a lawsuit Dec. 10 in the Cook County Circuit Court against John Doe.
According to the complaint, Qi was employed by United Airlines and on July 28, began receiving anonymous text messages relating to her employment. She claims she received three texts messages and as a result, has suffered severe and/or extreme emotional distress.
Qi is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000 and is being represented by attorneys Neal H. Levin and Matthew R. Campobasso, both of Freeborn & Peters LLP.
