Home Depot named in negligence lawsuit

Home depot1

Kathleen McGee filed suit Nov. 6 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Home Depot USA Inc.

McGee claims she was at the Home Depot store at 100 Barrington Road in Schaumburg in April, when she was injured after an employee of Home Depot struck her with a piece of equipment on the premises.

According to the complaint, McGee was an employee of Master Piece Flower Co., which was doing business on the premises. She alleges that she does not know what type of equipment she was struck by, but she says it was a violent collision and caused her to suffer serious injuries.

She is suing the Home Depot for negligence in failing to adequately train the equipment operator. Her suit also names a John Doe as a potential defendant.

McGee is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented by Chicago attorney Donald V. Gallagher.
