Painter sues client over injuries sustained in ladder fall

Carl H. Hampton filed suit Nov. 8 in the Cook County Circuit Court on Nov. 8 against Tattenai Hampton.

According to the complaint, Carl Hampton was at Tattenai Hampton's property on South Princeton Ave. in Chicago in November 2011 for business purposes when he was injured.

Carl allegedly was painting Tattanai's back porch when he fell from a ladder due to an unsafe stairway. Carl is suing for negligence, accusing Tattanai of failing to maintain the stairway in a safe manner or to warn him of the dangerous condition.

Heis seeking more than $100,000 in damages and is being represented by Waukegan attorney Dean B. Chalmers.
