A Metra employee is suing over claims he was injured on the job.
John Frencher Jr. filed a lawsuit Oct. 21 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Co. Corp., doing business as Metra, citing the Federal Employers' Liability Act.
Frencher says he was employed by the defendant and was on duty as an electrician on Sept. 27, 2011, when he sustained injury to his knee. The complaint states the plaintiff injured himself when he stepped on large rocks that rolled on the ballast.
He is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum, plus costs. He is being represented in the case by attorney Craig W. Church of Hoey & Farina.
