Jewel Osco sued over slip and fall incident

A woman is suing over claims she fell while at a local Jewel Osco.

Janice Williams filed a lawsuit Nov. 8 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against New Albertson's Inc. and Jewel Food Stores Inc., both doing business as Jewel Osco, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Williams sustained serious injuries on Aug. 23,when slipped and fell while at the Jewel at 1400 21st St. in Zion.

She claims the defendants negligently caused the floor to become and remain in a dangerous condition, failed to warn, failed to inspect the floor, failed to clean or pick up the falling hazard and failed to provide safeguards to prevent her from injury.

Williams  is seeking damages and is being represented by Ankin Law Office LLC.
