Aldi named in slip and fall lawsuit

Aldi

Maria Torres filed suit Nov. 8 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Aldi Inc. over a slip and fall incident she claims occurred on the store's premises.

According to the complaint, Torres was at the Aldi store at 1001 Cermak Road  in Broadview in April, when she slipped and fell on broken glass and a red liquid while approaching the checkout counter.

Torres is suing Aldi for negligence, claiming it failed to provide a safe walkway for customers. She contends she has suffered great injuries as a result of the incident.

She is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented by Chicago attorney Bruce A. Dickman.
