BNSF Railway Co. named as defendant in lawsuit

Stephen J. Klancir filed suit Oct. 22 in the Cook County Circuit Court against BNSF Railway Co.

According to the complaint, Klancir worked for BNSF for 20 years as a switchman before he was injured on the job in January 2009. He claims he injured his back, wrist and thumb when the switch he was throwing suddenly released all tension while under pressure.

Klancir is suing BNSF for for negligence. He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is represented by attorney Ryan Brennan.
