Jean Jordan, also known as Jordan Parker, filed a lawsuit Dec. 16 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against IAC Operating LLC, doing business as Lakeshore Sport and Fitness, and Peter Goldman, citing retaliatory discharge and defamation.

According to the complaint, Jordan was employed by Lakeshore Sport and Fitness and was injured during the course of her employment on Oct. 13, 2012.

Jordan claims she told the defendants she was going to exercise her Workers' Compensation rights and the defendants attempted to persuade her otherwise.

The complaint states Jordan underwent surgery for the injury and returned to work on March 1. On March 12, she claims, the defendants became hostile towards her and encouraged her to resign.

Jordan alleges that on March 13, the defendants improperly and wrongfully terminated her and made false statements regarding the her termination.

She is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. She is being represented in the case by attorney Dean J. Cara.
