A nursing home is facing suit over claims it violated the Nursing Home Care Act.
Pamela Preacely, as special administrator of the Estate of Dorothy Beene, filed a lawsuit Dec. 18 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Aria Post Acute Care, The Renaissance at Hillside Inc. and The Renaissance at Hillside, citing violations of the state's Nursing Home Care Act.
According to the complaint, Beene was a resident at The Renaissance at Hillside beginning on Sept. 18, 2012. Preacely claims that while a resident there, Beane suffered from injury, including the development and deterioration of a decubitis ulcer.
She claims the defendants failed to properly care for Beene. Preacely is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is represented by Brian J. Holmes of Hurley McKenna & Mertz P.C.
