Broadspire Services Inc., as subrogee of Lord and Taylor LLC, filed a lawsuit July 29 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Diversified Maintenance Systems.

According to the complaint, an employee of Lord and Taylor was working at the 18 Old Orchard Shopping Center in Skokie on July 29, 2011, when she was injured.

Diversified Maintenance allegedly performed cleaning services for Lord and Taylor, including waxing the floor. The suit states the employee slipped and fell on the waxed floor, sustained injuries and received workers' compensation payments following the incident.

Broadspire claims they have paid the employee nearly $60,000 and now seeks indemnification from Diversified Maintenance.

Broadspire claims Diversified Maintenance was negligent and is liable to the injured employee. It is seeking $59,212.70 in damages and is being represented by attorney Andrew R. Makauskas.
