Woman sued over Facebook posts

A woman is being sued for allegedly making false statements in her social media posts.

Vivian Ezeji, Charles Chukwu, Erasmus N. Ezeji and Ohalenwa C. Ezeji filed a lawsuit Dec. 16 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Ogechi Okeke.

The plaintiffs state on Nov. 3, the defendant published on her Facebook account that she maintains documents showing that: Vivian Ezeji is a drunk and was convicted of driving under the influence, Charles Chukwu committed immigration crimes and that Erasmus and Ohalenwa Ezeji had both served time in prison in Chicago and Nigeria.

According to the complaint, the statements Okeke posted on her Facebook page are false, defamatory and caused each of the plaintiffs to suffer injuries.

The plaintiffs are seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and are being represented in the case by attorney Thomas N. Auwers of Heller & Richmond Ltd.
