Security company sued after incident at nightclub

Scales3

A man is suing over claims he was hit at a nightclub.

Michael Garson filed a lawsuit Dec. 30 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Edward Logvinsky and Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises Inc.

According to the complaint, on the evening of Aug. 22 and the early hours of Aug. 23, at the nightclub Studio Paris, Logvinsky, a person allegedly known to staff for his aggressive behavior, placed himself at a table where Garson was seated and harassed the group.

Garson claims when he asked Logvinsky to leave, Logvinsky responded by violently attacking him with a head butt, knocking him unconscious.

The complaint states that Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises Inc., the company in charge of security at Studio Paris, did not intervene while Logvinsky was harassing the group and failed to deal with Garson's injuries in the proper manner, which required him to wait for more than one hour for emergency care.

Garson also claims he overheard personnel referring to the incident in a flippant manner and laughing.

He alleges the incident required him to receive sutures and CT scans at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, as well as multiple hospital visits and suffered permanent disfigurement to his face.

Garson is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorneys Michael I. Leonard and Ethan E. White of Leonard Law Offices.
