Brightstar Corp. and Starr Adjustment Services Inc., as subrogee of Brightstar, filed suit Nov. 15 in the Cook County Circuit Court against The Custom Co. Inc., Custom Transport Inc. and CDN Logistics Inc.
This lawsuit stems from goods that were supposed to be transported by the defendants, but were allegedly never delivered.
According to the complaint, Brightstar sells electronic equipment and has an office at 1001 Technology Way in Libertyville and Starr Adjustment in New York insured Brightstar Corp. against loss.
The defendants, the suit states, are in the logistics business with offices in Northlake.
Brightstar claims that on Nov. 15, 2012, it contracted with the defendants to transport cargo from Libertyville to destinations in several other states. Brightstar contends it delivered the goods to the defendants in return for a bill of lading.
The defendants, however, claim the goods were stolen before they could transport them.
