A woman is suing over claims she sustained injuries at an amusement park.
Maria Monarrez filed a lawsuit July 30 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Six Flags Great America, citing negligence.
According to the complaint, Monarrez was exiting a raft in the ride "Buccaneer Battle" on June 26, 2012, when she slipped on the wet ground and fell. Monarrez claims Six Flags was negligent for not providing non-skid surfaces in the exit area and allowing passengers on other rafts to shoot water cannons at the exit area.
She is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented by attorneys Keith L. Young and Alan Blur.
