Pullano

A Chicago man is suing his former employer, claiming he was terminated for exercising rights under the Workers' Compensation Act.

Herbert Jacocks filed a lawsuit Aug. 7 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against Luster Products Inc., citing retaliatory discharge.

According to the complaint, Jacocks was employed by the defendant since June 15, 1998 and was injured during the course of his employment on April 10, 2012.

He claims he told the Luster Products after the injury that he was going to need medical care and would be submitting medical bills and expenses to it and its workers' compensation carrier.

The suit states Jacocks was fired on April 30, 2013. He claims he was terminated in retaliation for seeking workers' comp benefits.

He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented by attorneys Richard L. Pullano and Mathew T. Siporin of the Law Offices of Richard L. Pullano PC.
