John Palamino, as independent administrator of the Estate of Kathy Palamino, filed suit Nov. 15 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Alexian Brothers Health System, Midsuburban Radiological Associates LLC, Rush University Medical Center and Drs. Allison Rittman, Daniel Ives and Kambiz Dowlatshahi.

According to the complaint, Kathy Palamino was seen by the defendants in November 2011, when a breast biopsy was recommended and performed 10 days later.

After the biopsy, Palamino claims he and Kathy were informed she had inflammatory breast cancer. The suit states she died from complications of metastic breast cancer in January 2013.

Palamino claims the defendants failed to timely diagnose Kathy's breast cancer and failed to accurately read diagnostic films that would have allowed earlier diagnosis.

He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented by Chicago attorney Martin J. Lucas.
