A woman is suing over claims her medical treatment caused injuries.
Alice Hudson filed a lawsuit Dec. 17. in the Cook County Circuit Court against Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, Victoria Powe, Jacqueline Kimball, Carolyn Betts and Dr. Aftab Khan, citing medical malpractice.
According to the complaint, Hudson went to Jackson Park Hospital for medical treatment on Jan. 13, 2012 and was cared for by the defendants. She alleges that she sustained injuries due to the defendant's failure to provide adequate care.
Hudson claims the defendants failed to possess sufficient skills and knowledge, failed to monitor, document and communicate the proper placement of a central line, failed to timely order an extravasation of Leavophed into tissue surrounding the infusion site and failed to prescribe prophylactic doses to counteract the extravasation of Levophed.
She is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. She is being represented in the case by attorneys at Curcio Law Offices.
