A truck driver who claims he was hurt after a pallet of merchandise fell on him is suing the company in charge of loading the pallets.
Andrew Kroll filed a lawsuit Oct. 29 in the Cook County Circuit Court against CEVA Freight LLC, CEVA Ground U.S L.P. and CEVA Logistics U.S. Inc., citing negligence.
According to the complaint, Kroll was working on Jan. 9, 2012 as a truck driver in a lot at 3301 E. Park Ave. in Arkansas and hauling merchandise requested by the defendants. The suit states the defendants are licensed in Illinois and own a facility at 855 N. Wood Dale Road in Wood Dale.
Kroll claims while he was in the process of opening the trailer doors, pallets stacked with merchandise and loaded by the defendants in Wood Dale fell off the trailer, causing him serious injury.
He is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is being represented in the case by attorney Matthew J. Coleman of Ridge & Downes.
