Deborah Keller filed suit Nov. 12 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. William Heller, Midland Orthopedic Associates S.C., Mercy Hospital and Medical Center and Mercyworks Michigan Physical Therapy.
According to the complaint, Keller was seen by the defendants in June 2010 for bilateral shoulder pain and weakness. In June 2011, the suit states the defendants diagnosed Keller with a torn left rotator cuff and underwent an arthroscopic surgical procedure to remediate the tear.
