A woman is seeking damages over claims she slipped and fell on a greasy floor.
Dolores Manney filed a lawsuit Dec. 16 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Smith Maintenance Co., citing premises liability.
According to the complaint, Manney was working at The James R. Thompson Center at 100 W. Randolph St. in Chicago, on Dec. 14, 2011, when slipped and fell due to grease accumulation on the floor near Bonjour Cafe.
The complaint states the building was owned by the Department of Central Management Services of the State of Illinois, which contracted with the defendant, Smith Maintenance Co., to clean the floors in the building.
Manney is seeking damages in excess of $30,000 and is represented in the case by attorney Jeffrey D. Javors.
