Metra sued after employee is injured in coach yard

A man is suing Metra over allegations he was injured on the job.

Clyde Neace filed a lawsuit Jan. 2 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Corporation, doing business as Metra.

According to the complaint, Neace was working as a signalman in the Elgin Coach Yard on Jan. 27, 2011 when he slipped on snow and ice on an unsalted platform and was injured.

He accuses the defendant of failing to provide a safe workplace and failing to warning him of the dangerous state of the platform.

Neace is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Richard A. Haydu of Hoey & Farina.
