A woman is suing a shopping plaza and others over claims she slipped and fell on an icy walkway.
Mary Turner filed a lawsuit Dec. 9 in the Cook County Circuit Court against National Shopping Plazas Inc., G&H Developers Corp., Nandorf Inc., doing business as Unique Thrift Store, and Unique Thrift Store, citing negligence.
According to the complaint, the defendants owned a shopping plaza and parking lot at or near 3748 N. Elston Ave. in Chicago. Turner claims she was at the shopping plaza and walking towards Unique Thrift Store on Dec. 9, 2011, when she slipped and fell on ice that had pooled in a depression near the base of a ramp.
She alleges the defendants failed to maintain the ramp to prevent accumulation of ice.
Turner is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is being represented in the case by attorneys from The Law Office of Marc D. Alberst P.C.
