Wal-Mart sued for negligence in trip and fall

A man is suing over injuries he allegedly sustained after falling in the parking lot of an area Walmart store.

Steve Edwards filed a lawsuit Nov. 19 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., citing negligence.

According to the complaint on Dec. 28, 2011, Edwards was at the Walmart store at 4005 167th St. in Country Club Hills when he tripped and fell over a sink hole in the parking lot.

He claims the defendant was negligent in failing to maintain the parking lot in a safe manner.

Edwards is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional limit. He is being represented in the case by attorney Cannon D. Lambert Sr. of Karchmar & Lambert P.C.
