Chicago bar accused of overserving violent customer

Earnes

Amy Lujano filed suit Nov. 25 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Gregory Yersich and Primero Inc., doing business as Dugan's on Halsted.

According to the complaint, Lujano was at Dugan's on Halsted, 128 S. Halsted St., on Dec. 9, 2012, when Yersich allegedly threw a large, heavy chair in her direction. She claims she suffered injured after being struck and suffered permanent disabling injuries to her head, body and limbs.

Lujano is also suing the bar under the Illinois Dramshop Act, claiming it served Yersich excessive amounts of alcohol that contributed to his violent outburst.

She is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented by attorney Brent R. Eames.
