A local attorney is being accused of committing professional malpractice.

Ramon Sanchez filed a legal malpractice lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court on Dec. 6 against Roger D. Rudich and Roger D. Rudich Ltd.

According to the complaint, Sanchez retained Rudich to investigate and commence a personal injury action on his behalf. Sanchez claims Rudich didn't adequately investigate the claim in that he failed to determine the proper defendants, commence a suit on his behalf, timely notify him of his decision not to file an action before the statute of limitations expired and inform him he had the opportunity to seek alternative counsel.

Sanchez contends that as result of the defendant's actions, he was not able to recover damages for personal injuries he sustained in a fall.

He is seeking damages in an excess of jurisdictional limits and is being represented in the case by Randall W. Schwartz of The Schwartz Firm.
