Scanlan

A couple is accusing a doctor of committing malpractice during a medical operation.

Annalisa Wilson and John Wilson filed a medical malpractice lawsuit Dec. 6 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Paul J. Guske and Suburban Surgical Care Specialists SC.

The complaint states on Dec. 11, 2011, Annalisa was admitted to St. Alexis Medical Center, where Guske performed a medical procedure while she was under anesthesia, and began having severe pain on the right side of her body after the surgery.

The plaintiffs claim that during surgery, the defendants deviated from the standard of care and were negligent in that they transected the intercostal nerve, failed to remove the intercostal nerve and failed to call for neurological consult.

They are seeking more than $50,000 in damages and are being represented in the case by attorney Edmund J. Scanlan.
