A former auto shop laborer is suing over claims repeated exposure to asbestos resulted in mesothelioma.
Dirk R. Connor filed the asbestos litigation complaint Jan. 2 in Cook County Circuit Court against A.W. Chesterton Co. and others.
The suit alleges that from 1972 until 1978, Connor worked in various capacities, including auto shop laborer and was exposed to asbestos containing products. Connor contends the defendants were negligent and knew or should have known that asbestos could cause injury or death.
Connor claims he developed mesothelioma as a result of the asbestos exposure.
He is asking for an undisclosed amount of damages and is being represented by Michael T. Egan of Cooney & Conway.
