Lee Manor Health Care Residence accused of negligence

Machado

A woman is suing over allegations a nursing home's negligent care resulted in her being admitted to an intensive care unit.

Eileen Dagro filed a lawsuit Nov. 26 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Seneca Nursing Home Inc., also known as Lee Manor Health Care Residence Inc. and Lee Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing, and Dr. Marianna Tsaran, citing negligence, medical negligence and violations of the Nursing Home Care act.

The complaint states that on Nov. 29, 2011, Dagro was a resident of Lee Manor at 1301 Lee St. in Des Plaines. Dagro claims Lee Manor was negligent by carelessly and negligently failing to timely provide oxygen to her, failing to respond to a call light contact to the nursing staff and failing to adequately supervise and control its agents.

As a result of the defendant's negligence, Dagro contends she went into respiratory failure, went unconscious and was transferred to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in a state of near death, which forced her admission in a prolonged intensive care unit admission and rehabilitation.

Dagro is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is being represented in the case by attorney Emilio E. Machado of Rubin, Machado & Rosenblum Ltd.
