Volkswagen sued after a man falls at the Chicago Auto Show

A man is suing after falling off an Audi platform at the Chicago Auto Show.

Jiri George Straka filed a lawsuit Jan. 17 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Volkswagen Group of America Inc., citing negligence.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 18, 2013, Straka was attending the Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place when he fell off a platform meant to showcase Volkswagen and Audi cars and ruptured his right Achilles tendon. Volkswagen is accused of negligently constructing or maintaining the platforms and failing to warn the customers of the danger.

Straka is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. He is being represented in the case by attorney Karen A. Enright of McNabola Law Group PC.
