Nursing home sued over man's death

A woman is suing a nursing home, claiming her father died after developed an infection and died in a nursing home.

Kathleen A. Deeds, as independent administrator of the estate of Willis L. Deeds, deceased, filed a lawsuit Jan. 16 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Trilogy Healthcare of Will LLC, doing business as St. James Manor & Villa, citing negligence and wrongful death.

The suit also names two doctors as respondents in discovery,

According to the complaint, Willis was a resident for long-term convalescent care at Trilogy, where he developed pressure sores, dehydration, malnutrition and an infection of his left hip surgical wound which, left untreated, spread and is suspected to have contributed to his death on April 30, 2012.

Kathleen Deeds is seeking more than $30,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Marina E. Ammendola.
