Horseshoe Casino sued after woman trips over carpet

A woman is suing after tripping and falling at a casino.

Shmouny Pira filed a lawsuit Jan. 17 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Caesars Entertainment Corp. and Caesars Entertainment Operating Company Inc., doing business as Horseshoe Casino, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Pira tripped on a damaged area of carpet on Jan. 19, 2012 at Horseshoe Casino and was injured. She accuses the defendants of failing to maintain the premises or warning customers of the dangerous condition of the carpet.

Pira is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Robert K. Albrecht of Nemeroff Law Offices Ltd.
