A man is suing several businesses after slipping on ice in a parking lot.

Douglas Edelman filed a lawsuit Jan. 9 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Skyline Lofts LLC, Skyline Michigan Condominium Association, EAM LLC, doing business as Ekstein Asset Management, and Amila Inc., doing business as Dunkin' Donuts.

According to the complaint, Edelman was walking in the parking lot on South Michigan Avenue on March 1, when he sustained injury after slipping on ice that formed from water flowing from a downspout.

He is accusing the defendants of failing to provide and maintain a safe environment and failing to warn the public of the dangerous condition.

Edelman is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Daniel A. Klein of Kurasch & Klein Ltd.
