Metra, Village of Blue Island sued over parking lot fall

A woman is suing over injuries she claims she sustained after slipping on ice in a Metra parking lot.

Barbara Holloway filed a lawsuit Jan. 9 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the Village of Blue Island and Regional Transportation Authority, doing business as Metra, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Holloway sustained injury on Jan. 10, 2012 after slipping on ice in the parking lot of a Metra station in Blue Island due to the absence of a functional light on the premises.

Holloway is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. She is being represented in the case by attorney Nancy L. Hirsch of Reiben, Hoffman, Baum & Hirsch.
