Jewel Food Stores sued after employee knocks woman down

A woman is suing over claims she was knocked over by an employee at a Jewel store.

Joan Gibbons filed a lawsuit Jan. 21 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Jewel Food Stores Inc. and SuperValu Inc., citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Gibbons was in the Jewel at 7525 Lake St. in River Forest on Dec. 18, when an employee bumped into her, knocking her to the ground and causing injuries.

Gibbons is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. She is being represented in the case by attorney Steven J. Seidman of Seidman Margulis & Fairman LLP.
