Doctor, hospital accused of medical malpractice by emergency room patient

A man is suing over claims an emergency room failed to properly treat his condition.

Perry A. Wilson filed a medical malpractice lawsuit Jan. 27 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Michael O'Mara, Evergreen Emergency Services Ltd. and Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers.

According to the complaint, Wilson went to the emergency room at Little Company of Mary Hospital on Jan. 28, 2012 for a clogged catheter and was treated by O'Mara.

He is accusing the defendants of failing to properly treat him and exercise the standard of care expected of licensed medical professionals, which resulted in injuries.

Wilson is seeking damages in excess of jurisdictional limits, plus costs, and is being represented in the case by attorney Alan H. Bender of Goldstein, Bender & Romanoff.
