Dog's owners sued over alleged attack

A pair of Maywood residents are facing a lawsuit over claims their dog bit a child.

A minor, through his mother and next friend, Rochelle Russell, filed a lawsuit Jan. 24 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Shannon Hester and Lashonda Hester.

According to the complaint, McGee was lawfully playing in the Hesters' front yard at 1300 S. Seventh Ave. in Maywood on April 7, when he was attacked and bit by the defendants' dog.

The plaintiff is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by Harvey L. Walner & Associates Ltd.
