Doctor sues Midwest Bone Joint & Spine Institute to collect compensation

A doctor who worked at Midwest Bone Joint & Spine Institute is suing to collect unpaid compensation.

Dr. Sung-Lana Kim filed a breach of contract lawsuit Dec. 3 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against Midwest Orthopaedic Consultants SC, doing business as Midwest Bone Joint & Spine Institute, and Drs. Anton J. Fakhouri and Jose R. Perez-Sanz.

According to the complaint, Midwest Bone Joint & Spine Institute employed Kim since Sept. 1, 2000. Kim alleges that from 2004 through 2006, her employer failed to pay her $214,584 in compensation.

Kim claims she has made repeated requests for the compensation, but the defendant refuses to honor the plaintiff's demand, according to the complaint.

The plaintiff is seeking damages no less than $470,141.28, prejudgement interest, fees and costs. She is being represented in the case by attorneys Kelly A. Starr and Chad A. Schiefelbein of Vedder Price P.C.
