Man sues after tripping on building materials outside Cook County hospital

Scales

A Cook County man is suing over claims he sustained injuries as a result of an unsafe walkway at an Illinois hospital.

William M. Heinlen filed a lawsuit Jan. 29 in the Cook County District Court against VSGI LLC, citing negligence.

Heinlen claims that on Jan. 30, 2012, he suffered injuries when he slipped and fell outside of Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital, 5000 S. Fifth Ave. in Hines. According to the suit, VSGI was renovating the entrance way to the hospital and left foreign debris and building materials on the ground that Heinlen slipped on, resulting in severe and permanent injuries.

Heinlen is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Clarendon Hills attorney Donald V. Gallagher of The Law Offices of Donald V. Gallagher P.C.
