A woman is suing a surgeon over claims he failed to treat her injury in a timely manner.

Linda McInnes filed a lawsuit Oct. 11 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Eugene P. Lopez and Midwest Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgical Specialists Ltd., citing negligence.

According to the complaint, McInnes went to Midwest in October 2011 complaining of right wrist pain after a falling. Lopez examined her wrist and recommended surgery, which he performed in February 2012.

McInnes claims Lopez failed to timely and properly perform surgery, provide alternatives to the treatment rendered and timely diagnose and treat her condition.

She is suing for suffered damages of a personal and pecuniary nature including pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, medical, nursing and hospital expenses.

McInnes is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is being represented in the case by attorney Don M. Sowers of Motherway & Napleton LLP.
