A woman is suing over claims a doctor botched her bunion surgery.
Rejeana Jones filed suit Dec. 4 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Lawrence Marczak, doing business as Podiatry Consultants of Chicago, and Dr. Rachel Erwin.
According to the complaint, Jones underwent foot surgery in December 2011 at Podiatry Consultants of Chicago, 30 N. Michigan Ave. Marczak, the suit states, performed a bilateral bunionectomy with internal fixation and arthroplasty.
Jones claims the surgery did not have the result she hoped for and experienced pain in her left foot following the surgery. Jones alleges she received a MRI on her foot that showed a wire, which was put in her foot during the surgery, poking into her soft tissue.
The suit states Jones underwent a corrective surgery, also performed by Marczak. She claims she still felt pain in her foot following that procedure and eventually went to another surgeon who was able to correct her foot pain.
Jones is suing the defendants for medical malpractice and is seeking more than $50,000. She is represented by Chicago attorney Daniel R. McLean.
